Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

We're With You Canada!

True Hoop breaks down the clock/officials hijinx at the end of regulation of the Hawks-Raptors game last night. Basically, the clock started early on TJ Ford's game winning effort. Henry has all the video, photos, and relevant articles linked.

One tenth of a second could be the difference in the Pacers making or missing the playoffs. I know, I can list a few (as in 50 or so) other reasons, but this is nice to hold onto for now. Make sure to support your local Canadian and their cries of protest today.

To add to the conspiracy theory:  with only .5 on the clock, how on earth do the Hawks let a guy get to the rim for an uncontested lob??  Here's how -- the history of hijinks by their score/clock keepers leaves them confident that there's no need to defend against the most obvious play to run in that situation.

ummm... bosh?
There's no way that you're telling me that you were thinking to yourself "I bet they lob it to TJ Ford, the smallest player on the court."  No.  That was not the obvious play.  The obvious play was a lob to Bosh, and that's probably what the Hawks were assuming was coming.  Also, a lot of teams won't attempt that play because a lob to the rim from the hash mark is a tough pass to make even when it's wide open.  That's why a lot of teams just look for a jumper in those situations, even when there's as little at .5 seconds left.

rim
I didn't see the game, only the highlight.  Also, my post was mainly in jest.  However, no matter who might receive a lob to the rim, it's safe to say that someone might in that situation.  Why overplay Ford and give him an unmolested backdoor cut?  In that situation, make a guy catch, turn, and shoot from deep.

there should be...
at least one or two people protecting the rim at that point.  with.5 left unless ur derek fisher, you are not getting a decent look off, its gotta go near the rim....dwight howard..david lee.....and not having a big guy or two just swattin away down there is their own mistake...u cant blame a ref for pushing his button one tenth of one second too slow...as much as i would like to...im officially hoping for a huge pluck in the lottery and getting rose or mayo, i think theyre gonna be nasty
