Larry, Pat make a deal ....

Shawn Marion is old and expensive, I know, but he also is a valuable asset on the right team. Miami is not on the right team let me show you why. According to the numbers he has  this season 10ppg 8rpg 1apg comapred that to carrer averages of 18ppg 10rpg 2apg. It has been noted that It is early and Marion is trying to establish himself in a new team behind the potential rookie of the year Michael Beasly. It is obvious to me Marion needs to be on a team that runs and guns on offense and is dedicated to defense. Insert the Indiana Pacers.

Star-divide

Larry Bird and Pat Riley have a long history of competing against each other weather it be player versus coach, coach versus coach, and now the drama is GM against GM. Riley's Heat team like Bird's Pacer team are both re-loading, re-building whatever you want to call it, thery are trying to get back into the NBA conversation. In my opinion both rosters offer something each desperatly need.

Miami's need of a point guard has been well documented and can be seen on the court during the game. Miami has enough talented players but no quarterback, their situation reminds me of the Indianapolis Colts without Peyton Manning. Point guard weakness can explain close losses to Charlotte, New Orleans, and the New York Knicks all teams I believe Miami are superior to talent wise. (yeah even Charlotte I rate them below Miami's talent because THEY ARE, Chris Paul the only reason they are so so good)

The Indiana Pacers need to move Jamaal Tinsley. Say what you want but I have watched Jamaal play for the last 7 seasons and he is capable of running and NBA team and has the abillity to change a game. Now that I am thinking of the great games he has played, I have only seen 1 player actually out play Jamaal and that was Gary Payton you can insert the term Hall of Fame player within the next 2 years for Gary.

To sum this post up Larry and Pat need to get together for dinner. discuss the good times they have had whether it be LA vS BOSTON - or INDIANA vs MIAMI. Then ask each other if they would like to enjoy these times in the future. I think once they agree they DO  Marion will look right in a Pacer uniform to Bird and Tinsley a memeber of the Heat  to Riley or visa-versa. Until then look for Miami's Marion situation and the Pacer's situation to remain the same.

1st post ever for anything take it easy on me ...

I think it makes sense for Miami

Tinsley would be great running with the talent on South Beach. The Pacers would have to add a player or two to make it work salary wise.

Great First Post

I love that you have Tinsley being moved, however I’m just not sure if Marion can play the four, I’ve always seen him as more of a three. I believe that we are solid at the three with both Granger and Dunleavy able to play that spot.

Although at the end of the day I care more about moving Tinsley than I do about what I get in return so yeah I’d be okay with this deal.

I really think Marion can work ....

Granger has played the 4 spot several times this year and had a mismatch almost everytime. I think If we were to aquire a true post up 4 that would slow our offensive flow and maybe set us back …. I think that our offense would receive Marion very well just imagine having Dunleavy Granger & Marion on the court with RASHO and TJ we would be pushing for a top 4 spot in the east with that starting lineup. We would have to sacrafice a Marquis Daniels type contract to make the deal as cornrows said before. The key is getting Tinsley off of the roster with something useful in return.

I like the idea, Man of Pace.

I think we could be a force in the East if Marion came over. I have to admit that as much as I like our team right now, I am getting impatient waiting for us to move Tinsley. It is sort of like the feeling I have now while Mike D is hurt. We are good and on a good track, but we are not a complete product in terms of personnel. It will be nice when #17 is back and Tinsley is gone and our “final” roster for the season, whatever form it takes, is in place. At that point we will certainly have a much clearer vision of what this year’s team is capable of.

On this note, does anyone have any real leads or has anyone heard any good rumors about Tinsley lately? I feel like, except for his agent’s buyout talk, all has been quiet lately.

Not a bad idea

But, on ESPN’s Trade Machine, a Tinsley + Daniels for Marion deal doesn’t work, the Pacers would need to throw roughly $700k in salary to make up for the difference. The only player that makes roughly that on our roster is McRoberts. I can’t see the Heat giving up the only real expiring contract for an overpaid PG with 3 years left. Also, this three for one would leave the Heat with 17 players under contract, meaning they would have to cut/buyout 2 players (which would cost additional money to them).

That being said, I agree that we need to unload Tinsley. However, the rest of the league knows that we need to get rid of him. That makes it very hard to get good value.
