"It's a big process," O'Brien said. "We only played four guys last night that played for us last year so there were nine other guys that never played as a unit and they were in and out, so there's some of that. Our halfcourt offense, our plays, we haven't refined. We've put a lot in, so they're not going to be sharp on that.

"But running and the fundamentals of the fast break -- if you can't attack reverse the basketball and get into something -- we never consistently ran hard enough to put pressure on the defense, nor did we reverse the basketball and get into the beginnings of our passing game. And frankly, we have spent the majority of our time offensively on those two things. So that was surprising and I don't want to offer an excuse that just because they haven't worked together for a year that they shouldn't be further along. I fully expected them to be further along than they showed and I'm approaching it frankly, that it was a little bit of an anomaly."

From Bruno's Caught in the Web, Jim O'Brien breaks down the ugly start to the preseason. Also, Danny Granger tweaked his foot but hopes to play tomorrow. Mike Dunleavy and Troy Murphy won't play.
