Pacers Extend Jeff Foster's Contract

While announcing the Shawne Williams-to-Dallas trade, the Pacers also announced that they extended Jeff Foster's contract keeping him from testing free agency after his current deal runs out at the end of this season.

Bruno has all the details. The Foster extension isn't the sexy second announcement we were hoping for, but does merit a firm nod of apporval. Foster is now the elder statesman of the organization and effort is always welcomed. Congrats, Jeff!

As for Shawne, the deal reported by Mike Wells is confirmed. Bird on Shawne:

“I had a great relationship with Shawne while he was here,” said Pacers President of Basketball Larry Bird. “We are sad to see him go; but we think this will be a great opportunity for him in Dallas.”

Bruno mentions the reports of Eddie Jones being waived but nothing on this from Bird or the Pacers.

Oh, yeah, there's a game tonight.
