Playoffs

With the season approaching the quarter pole, it might seem crazy to guarantee that the Pacers, at 9-10, will make the playoffs.  However, according to ESPN's John Hollnger, the Pacers are a virtual lock for the post-season .

Interestingly, Hollinger projects Indy as the 6th seed in the East, exactly the same spot predicted by Keester99 last month .

37-45 is projeced to earn the 7th and 8th seeds in the East. Yikes!

hollinger and most of the rest...
...totally dissed the Pacers pre-season.  No take-backs, that's what I say.  I've had it up to my 'kester' with those guys.

My $.02
The way they're playing right now, I don't think any of the middle-of-the-pack teams would want to face the Pacers in the playoffs. They're feisty.

Boston and Detroit wouldn't have a problem. Orlando wouldn't have a problem if it'd get its head out of its behind. But Toronto? New Jersey? Cleveland? Indy would give them fits, I think.

Staying fearless
Since I said these guys shouldn't get take-backs, I'm not taking any do-overs either:

The Pacers should have been 11-9 now, per my original prediction.  By the end of the year, after the 31 Dec Charlotte game, the team should be 19-13. That's all leading to the 46-36 finish.

Even though we're a win off that pace, I think we can still get to 19-13 by year's end. Going 9-3 over the next 12?  Very rough, but check the schedule. This may be our easiest stretch until late March and April.

just checking
up on some old posts...i would have said the same thing about 19-13 and actually did at one time...time to turn it around, were halfway thru the season and theres really not much time left to turn things around so we dont have to face boston or detroit round 1..

Fortunately in the East
there is still time to turn it around. After GS leaves town, the schedule is more favorable.
